Leo Roubian
Leo has been devoted to animals for her entire life. She rescued stray dogs off the streets of Puerto Rico as a child and later became involved in rescue in New Jersey. Upon returning to the island in 2005, Leo began volunteering with several local organizations and helped individual rescuers and countless low-income individuals with their pets.

Leo started Barks of Hope in 2014 and since then, she has continued the important work of saving animals. She has a long history in charitable giving and fundraising for children's causes and is a proud and devoted mother and grandmother, a chef, a nature-lover and gains comfort and peace from her family and swimming in the ocean.

Barks of Hope

Medical / Care Fund

Many of the animals we rescue are in need of medical attention for things like mange, heart-worm or injuries. We also work to spay and neuter as many animals as possible. Your support allows us to provide lifesaving care to many animals and help reduce pet overpopulation through spaying and neutering.

Transportation Fund

It is often difficult to find loving and responsible homes for the animals that we rescue. Lucky for us, we have developed a relationship with..., which allows us to transport animals off-island to our partners in... Your generous donation will allow us to cover the costs of travel crates and airfare for many hopeful animals.

Street Team Rescue Fund

Barks of Hope has volunteers that travel the entire island of Puerto Rico, providing rescue support to animals in need. That's 3515 sq miles of terrain! Your support helps offset the cost of fuel and vehicle wear and tear.
